Finding Peace
Finding, searching, looking?
What does it mean to find peace in the busy, crazytown of life? We’re always on the go. Whether it’s waking up on time, or not, for work, gulping smoothies, maybe chowin’ down on some cereal, or perhaps running out to get food because you forgot your lunch, taking your kiddos to their after school games, or practices. Get home, crash in bed, falling asleep to your favorite show. Wake up, do it all again.
Question.
So where do we find that place of rest amidst our busy lives without just living for the next vacation?? Though speaking of vacations, check the blog about some pretty rad places to travel to that aren’t out of the country.
Sometimes finding peace means, getting quiet, listening to nature, praying, breathing, focusing your thoughts not on the anxiety of life, but rather the little, joyful things.
Maybe you can find that restful place, just in your car, right before you walk into work, take five minutes and just breath. And think about, I don’t know, the way the sky looks that day, instead of thinking about how you need to stop by the store to pick up some milk, and/or toilet paper. Just think on the pleasant moments, or you children or family, or your goofy silly cute pets (check out the blog about dogs!).
The peaceful moment.
It doesn’t have to be a long or dramatic moment to just let your mind de-focus from the chaos. It could be a simple, few seconds of just being grateful.
Be grateful.
I’ve heard of gratefulness walks, where you just find a place to walk, whether it’s the park, or your backyard, or five minutes around your workplace. And just being grateful for the people and blessings you have in your life. Being grateful can totally change the atmosphere of your day.
So what does this look like in your schedule? Try and find out what works for you. What is something that is going to fit into your day and bring you more peace? What are you grateful for?
